Join Imma Barrera for a glimpse of her journey as a night photography artist in residence at three national parks: Glacier, Acadia and Capitol Reef.

“Under the Night Sky” is Imma’s personal project to help raise awareness among the general public about the night sky and the effects of light pollution on our environment. This project was conceived in 2018 during a visit to Joshua Tree National Park with the goal of combining her scientific background and documenting the night skies.

In this talk Imma will give a general introduction to the artist in residence programs run by the National Park Service. She will also present her project and share her experiences volunteering for the different parks, together with a selection of the night images created during her residencies.
