Creating photographs that contain both the Milky Way and an illuminated landscape is one of the more challenging aspects of night photography. Capturing the best-looking Milky Way means shooting during the darkest of skies. Shooting during the darkest of skies means a pitch-black landscape. The solution? Capture the landscape while there is still light and then wait for pure darkness to shoot the sky.
Once the images are captured, the real challenge begins: creating a realistic composite. Join Tim Cooper as he shows you how to blend these two very different exposures together in Photoshop. Focusing on color, contrast and brightness controls, he’ll demonstrate the most effective techniques for creating realistic landscape/Milky Way blends.
Photoshop topics will include: · matching color, contrast and brightness · layers · selections · masks · smart objects
