About this speaker

Born in Barcelona, Imma Barrera is a landscape and nature photographer based in New Jersey. She is a biologist but also a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography, has exhibited her photography in numerous galleries worldwide and has won several awards.

Imma has been selected for several national park Artist-in-Residence programs (Capitol Reef, Acadia and Glacier National Parks) for her photography. In addition, she was shortlisted in the Landscape category of the 2019 Sony World Photography Awards-Professional competition with her series “Under the Night Sky.”

Imma runs educational programs about photography and has published a book about the night skies in New Jersey and New York, as well a book about her experiences as an Artist-in-Residence at Capitol Reef. Currently she is working on books covering Glacier and Acadia, and one about her “Under The Night Sky” project.
